Wisdoms: an intergenerational podcast by Ellie Gordon-Moershel

I was the Content Director on this podcast produced by brainchild podcasts in collaboration with Mammalian Diving Reflex featuring youth interviewing seniors in Toronto's west end. It can be downloaded through itunes or with the rss feed

There are surprising and touching insights in all the episodes but I highly recommend this one. 17-year-old Lia asks 82-year-old Michael about his first kiss and, well, you should just listen...

Tornado Warning - 3 min audio fiction by Ellie Gordon-Moershel

I've had reoccurring tornado dreams most of my life (likely stemming from watching Twister approximately 268 times as a kid) and so I wrote an audio fiction piece about a woman hiding out from a tornado in her mother's basement.

It stars comedian/actor Allison Hogg.

Please listen with headphones :)

Originally produced for the 2016 Thirdcoast Shortdocs challenge.

The Sarah Awards "Very, Very, Short, Short, Stories Contest" Winner by Ellie Gordon-Moershel

My piece, The Record, was selected as the first winner for The Sarah Awards Very, Very Short, Short, Stories Contest.

In 2 minutes and 45 seconds, Ellie Gordon-Moershel puts us in the seat of an unknown main character, waiting to travel, somewhere, we don’t know. Through this recording we get a glimpse of her life, where she has been, and who she has known. The script is elegant and moving, light and deep at the same time. With a simplistic and brilliant sound design Ellie Gordon-Moershel creates a true gem.

Climate change and the cosmos by Ellie Gordon-Moershel

This piece was inspired by a theory that all advanced civilizations inevitably destroy themselves through self-inflicted climate destruction. I interviewed 3 people from different walks of life about this theory, climate change on Earth and thoughts about aliens. I paired their words with a music bed I produced using this NASA Sputnik sample

It was produced for Alternatives Journal:

Stories about Yukon's equality movements by Ellie Gordon-Moershel

For their 30th anniversary the Yukon Women's Directorate hired me to interview a number of feminists, human rights champions and Aboriginal leaders in the Yukon. I recorded their stories about milestones in equality movements over the past 30 years. Here are two of my favourites.

Judi Johnny of the Gwa'sala-'Nakwaxda'xw Nations. Judi passed away a few months after this recording.

Stephen Dunbar-Edge, longtime LGBTQ advocate and with his husband Rob was instrumental in the Yukon Supreme Court Decision to legalize same-sex marriage.

PridehouseTO podcast by Ellie Gordon-Moershel

Lesbian Feminist Haunted House by Ellie Gordon-Moershel

Artist Allyson Mitchell leads this audio tour through her Lesbian Feminist Haunted House. Featuring sounds from opening night and interviews with performers.

The project was a lesbian/queer/feminist response to radical evangelical groups' "hell houses" which showcase gruesome retribution for the perceived sins of fornication, abortion, suicide, occultism, and same-sex relationships. Explicit content and hilarity below:
